Cary Grant and Mae West in I'm No Angel (May 4, 10:45 PM)
We're into the first week of a new month, which as usual (well, not in February or August) means we get a new Star of the Month on TCM. This time, the star in question is Mae West. So this is going to be a bit briefer of a post because, well, Mae West didn't make all that many movies.
Indeed, Mae West's films are showing up on TCM on Sundays in prime time, which means first that it's an abbreviated evening in general as TCM will still be running Silent Sunday Nights. Second, there are only three Sunday nights of films as part of West's salute because the final Sunday, May 25, is part of Memorial Day weekend and the traditional TCM marathon of war movies.
It looks as though there are nine films being shown, which TCM's article seems to confirm, with three of the films being premieres. I think I've done blog posts on all of them thanks to the Mae West box set I picked up having most of those Paramount features.
Obviously, Sextette is not among the movies being shown.
