Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal in The Fountainhead (June 5, 4:45 AM)
We're into the first week of a new month, and, as always (well, not during 31 Days of Oscar or Summer Under the Stars), that means it's time for a new Star of the Month on TCM. This time around, the Star of the Month is Gary Cooper, and his movies will be airing every Wednesday in prime time, leading into the early hours of the Thursday morning schedule in some cases.
One example of the early Thursday movie scheduling is Bright Leaf, which shows up at 7:30 AM on June 19, just following a night of Gary Cooper westerns. Oddly enough, among those westers is not Man of the West. I say oddly, because it did get an airing a few nights back, on June 2 at 10:00 PM. I recorded it, with the idea that I was going to be able to do a post on it when it showed up during the Star of the Month tribute. But obviously that's not going to happen if it's not part of the Star of the Month tribute.
One other movie that is showing up that I haven't done a post on before is The Adventures of Marco Polo, overnight tonight at 12:45 AM. I thought I might have saved it in my watch lists on one or another of the FAST providers, but either I never did, or which ever one I did no longer has the rights to stream it which results in it getting removed from the save lists.
I was also somewhat surprised when I looked up the posts on Gary Cooper that I've done over the years that I have surprisingly few photos from his movies that I've saved that I could post again. Then again, I haven't been posting anywhere near a many photos as I used to, something which I should probably start doing again.
