Just a quick heads-up about a movie that's airing overnight tonight on TCM that's not available on DVD: My Sister Eileen, airing at 12:30 AM ET on July 2 (that's late in the evening of July 1 in the rest of the US). Rosalind Russell (TCM's Star of the Month for July) stars as a writer who, along with her sister Eileen (Janet Blair) moves from small-town Ohio to a basement apartment in Greenwich Village. Russell eventually becomes a successful writer by writing about the people in her apartment building, including those who stop by to visit the previous tenant, as well as the doings of her somewhat scatter-brained sister.
It's an episodic comedy that's quite a bit of fun, and based on a true story. Watch also for a cameo at the end; I won't give away who it is.
