We're into the first full week of a new month, which means that it's time for a new Star of the Month on TCM. This being October, we get the movies of Peter Cushing, a British actor who is probably best remembered for his roles in a bunch of the Hammer Studios horror pictures. Cushing's movies will be airing every Monday in prime time on TCM.
However, there enough non-horror movies in the schedule to make things interesting. Tonight, for example, starts off with Cash on Demand at 8:00, with Cushing playing a bank manager whose branch gets robbed at Christmastime by André Morell.
The Dracula and Frankenstein movies start showing up on October 19 with movies like Horror of Dracula at 9:30 PM, which I think was the first of the Hammer Dracula films, as it went under the title Dracula in the UK. Later in the evening, at 2:45 AM on October 20, there's Frankenstein Created Woman.
You can read more about TCM's salute to Cushing at the TCM website.
